A Portland man was found guilty Thursday of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl on six occasions in 2013 in Scarborough.
A jury convicted Timothy M. Hunt, 29, in Cumberland County Unified Criminal Court in Portland, culminating a three-day trial.

According to a news release from the Scarborough Police Department, Hunt assaulted the girl at a motel on Route 1 between January and July 2013 while he was her caretaker.
Police investigated after receiving information from the victim’s mother.
Hunt was found guilty of six counts of gross sexual assault, a Class A felony, and six counts of unlawful sexual touching, a Class B felony.
He faces sentencing in September.
