Tipsters on social media identified a man captured on video stealing a pistol from Lakeside Marina in Shapleigh that led to his arrest Friday.
York County Sheriff Deputy Dan Shaw responded to the report of a theft of a pistol from a gun rack at Lakeside Marina Friday. The marina owner told Shaw he had noticed two men acting furtively near the gun rack.
Police reviewed surveillance videos and posted a video of the theft on social media. Tipsters identified the two men. The police found the men and arrested John Jalbert, 29, of Sanford. Police recovered the gun.
Jalbert was charged with theft by unauthorized taking. He is scheduled to appear at York County Superior Court on Oct. 29. The other man was not charged.
