GREENLAND, N.H. — A Maine man is accused of using a stolen car to lead police on a chase in two other states.
New Hampshire State Police say the incident started with reports of a car driving erratically — possibly on three tires — on Interstate 95 in Greenland late Sunday night. Police say when they tried to stop the car, the driver refused, starting a chase that reached 90 miles per hour and continued into Massachusetts, where troopers there were able to deflate the tires.
Twenty-two-year-old Wesley Ruede of Oxford, Maine, was charged in Massachusetts with being a fugitive from justice and faces multiple New Hampshire charges, including receiving stolen property, reckless operation and disobeying a police officer. It was not known Monday whether he has a lawyer.
