Buxton police continue to probe a weekend shooting off Woodridge Drive as they try to determine a motive.

Police arrested two men after a report of someone being shot in woods area near 34 Woodridge Drive at 4 a.m. Sunday.

“There was a fight that led up to this but we don’t know what it was about,” said Police Chief Michael Grovo, who described the area as deep in the woods.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the forearm and taken to an area hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury, he said.

Police charged Trevor Hesketh, 21, of Hollis – who they believe wielded the gun – with aggravated reckless conduct. Police also charged Bruce Hodgkin, 39, of Gorham with aggravated assault. The chief could not provide details of the assault. Some knives also were confiscated.
