CARIBOU – Police say they have identified a man found in a burning house in a Caribou homicide.

The Maine State Police Crime Lab said the victim is Kenneth C. Zernicke, 58. State police are still investigating the death and are asking for the public’s help in finding information about the case.

Officials say Zernicke’s body was found after Caribou firefighters responded to a house fire Thursday evening. Fire damage was confined to the interior of the home.

Police are asking anyone who saw activity around the house between 6 and 10 p.m. on Thursday to call them.
