NEW YORK — Henrik Lundqvist made 39 saves and Viktor Stalberg, J.T. Miller and Rick Nash scored to help the New York Rangers beat the Boston Bruins 3-2 in an exhibition game Wednesday night.

The Bruins play their final exhibition game Friday at Washington.

The Bruins start the regular season next Thursday at home against the Winnipeg Jets.

Stalberg and Miller scored late in the second period, and Nash connected on a power play at 5:21 of the third.

Brett Connolly scored twice for Boston, and Jonas Gustavsson made 24 saves.

DEVILS 4, FLYERS 2: Travis Zajac broke a tie late in the second period and added an empty-net goal with 32 seconds left as visiting New Jersey topped Philadelphia.

Tuomo Ruutu and Adam Henrique also scored for New Jersey, and Keith Kinkaid made 27 saves.

Chris Porter and Wayne Simmonds scored for Philadelphia. Michal Neuvirth allowed three goals on 18 shots in the first two periods.

Jason LaBarbera stopped all eight shots he faced in the third.

HURRICANES 4, NATIONALS 3: Nathan Gerbe tied it in the second period and had the shootout winner in Carolina’s victory over visiting Washington.

Elias Lindholm and Riley Nash also scored in regulation, and Jeff Skinner connected in the shootout. Eddie Lack made 31 saves.

Alex Ovechkin, Stanislav Galiev and Michael Latta scored for Washington.

RED WINGS 7, PENGUINS 2: Andreas Athanasiov scored two goals and Petr Mrazek made 36 saves in Detroit’s win over the host Penguins.

NOTES

OILERS: Forward Jordan Eberle will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a shoulder injury.

Eberle left Tuesday night’s game against Arizona in the first period following a collision behind the Coyotes’ net.

Eberle was the Oilers’ top scorer last season with 63 points (24 goals, 39 assists) in 81 games.
