Maine State Police conducted a search on Thursday at the East Millinocket site where a teenager was killed 35 years ago.
WCSH-TV reported that police searched the wooded spot behind Schenck High School in East Millinocket, where the body of 16-year-old Joyce McLain was found on Aug. 10, 1980.
McLain’s mother, Pam McLain, told WCSH-TV that she had been told police would be searching near the soccer field, but she was not sure what prompted the new search.
