SACO — Simon Trcka scored three goals Thursday to lead Thornton Academy to a 3-2 victory against Gorham in a game between undefeated SMAA schoolboy soccer teams.

Trcka opened the scoring from Dalton Moore for Thornton (8-0-2). The Rams (7-1-1) took the lead before halftime on goals by Cody Elliot and Tyler Richmond.

Trcka tied the game in the second half from Cam Twombley and Dan Marsh set up the winner.

Andrew Coleman of Thornton and Trenton Bassingthwaite of Gorham had six saves each.

BIDDEFORD 3, MASSABESIC 2: The Tigers (1-8) scored three unanswered goals to down the Mustangs (2-7) at Biddeford.

Dawson Renaud scored the first of his pair of goals at 22:35 from Zach Huff to give Massabesic a 1-0 halftime lead.

George Bigeni tied it from 6 yards after a scrum 15:48 into the second half; Alex Millett headed in a Caleb Ball throw-in for the go-ahead goal; and Badur Saadon put in a loose ball from 22 yards for a 3-1 lead.

Renaud brought Massabesic within 3-2 from 18 yards on an Ethan Ouellette assist.

Joshua Castonguay stopped nine shots for the Mustangs. Tristan Huot had eight saves on 10 shots for Biddeford.

SACOPEE VALLEY 2, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Devin Day scored both goals as Sacopee Valley (4-5) downed Traip Academy (2-5) at South Hiram.

Day gave the Hawks the lead with 19 minutes left on a penalty kick, then made it 2-0 with nine minutes left after dribbling past two defenders.

Cam Cyr recorded the shutout with six saves. Justin Bormann stopped nine shots for Traip.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 7, POLAND 1: Liam Stewart scored twice as the Patriots (7-2-1) cruised past the Knights (2-5-1) at Gray.

Kyle Radziszewski scored for Poland.

John Henry Villanueva made four saves for the Patriots. Tom Flint stopped 12 shots for the Knights.

CAPE ELIZABETH 8, LAKE REGION 0: Nicolai Sabbatini and Wes Parker scored three goals each as the Capers (4-4) rolled past the Lakers (0-8) at Cape Elizabeth.

Matt Galvin and Conner Thoreck added goals for Cape Elizabeth, which led 5-0 at halftime.

MARSHWOOD 1, SANFORD 0: Lyle Carson scored late in the first half as the Hawks (5-3-1) edged the Spartans (3-6) at Sanford.

Sam Leathe stopped five shots for Marshwood.

FALMOUTH 0, GREELY 0: Brandon George turned aside eight shots for Greely (3-3-2) and Jack Scribner stopped six shots for the Yachtsmen (6-1-1) at Cumberland.

Defenders Jack Engelberger of Falmouth and Austin Nowinski of Greely played strong games.

SOUTH PORTLAND 2, WESTBROOK 1: Ahmed Suja scored two goals in 30 seconds in the final three minutes to lift the Red Riots (4-2-2) over the Blue Blazes (3-5-2) at South Portland.

Suja’s two scores overcame an own goal by South Portland with 10 minutes left in the first half that gave the Blue Blazes a 1-0 lead. His first goal came off a header from Patrick Graff. The second was scored on a rebound of a Kervens Antoine shot.

Riley Hasson turned in seven saves for the Riots. D.J. Henrickson saved four shots for Westbrook.
