A pickup truck crashed into a utility pole on Route 1 and Campus Drive in Scarborough on Tuesday morning and shut down a section of Route 1 for 10 hours.
Route 1 reopened late Tuesday afternoon just as the evening commute was getting underway.
The crash happened at about 6 a.m. between the Interstate 295 connector and Pleasant Hill Road, according to Scarborough police.
Nobody was hurt but the crash took down wires and left them lying across the road. The crash cut power to a large number of businesses in that area.
The I-295 connector was not affected.
Once utility crews repaired the electrical equipment, the soutbound lanes reopened at 4 p.m. and the northbound lanes a short while after that.
