Ann Beattie, prize-winning writer of short stories and novels, will speak about her new collection of linked stories, “The State We’re In.” Her stories relate how we live in the places we chose or have chosen us; stories we tell our families, our friends, and ourselves; how our affinities unite or repel us; and where we look for love. Copies of the book will be available for sale.
