Residents of Portland’s District 2 are fortunate to have a very capable candidate running for City Council from our district.

I first met Spencer Thibodeau in April and was impressed by his energy, enthusiasm and ability. Spencer grew up in Portland and, after time away at college and law school, returned to Portland to practice law and settle down.

Spencer’s work as an intern on Capitol Hill spurred his interest in public policy. As a lawyer who has spent time doing pro bono work for low-income families, he has learned negotiating skills necessary to advocate for those who are too often left out.

I believe that Spencer will serve us well as a bright, energetic, knowledgeable councilor, well-equipped to understand and tackle the varied issues that confront the city in an analytic, thoughtful manner. I hope you will join me in supporting Spencer Thibodeau on Nov. 3.
