Maine game wardens on Tuesday night were looking for two men who were missing in Franklin County after they failed to return home in the afternoon from an off-road excursion.

Travis S. Mosher of Rangeley, whose age was not immediately available, and Douglas S. Richmond, 49, of Madrid, had met up at Richmond’s residence and set off around 2 p.m. in Mosher’s recently purchased Jeep, according to Cpl. John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service.

The two men could not be reached by cellphone, possibly indicating their phones were turned off or ran out of power, MacDonald said in a news release shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday.

It is unclear in what direction the men traveled, he said.

MacDonald asked anyone with information that could help find the two men to call Public Safety Dispatch in Augusta at 624-7076.
