Maine ranks 16th in the nation, and is one of 36 states that saw increases in the overall graduation rate.

Maine's Class of 2014 graduation rate – the percentage of high school seniors who graduated in four years – was 86.5%, which was up slightly from the graduation rate in the 2012-2013 school year. Maine's graduation rate is above the national average, but behind neighbors like New Hampshire (88.1%) and Vermont (87.8%).
