Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are the most expensive places to buy a home in Maine, and Waterville is the most affordable, according to a survey of home listings conducted by real estate agency Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC.

In a report issued Tuesday, Coldwell Banker said it examined 21 markets in the state and determined the average listing price in each market for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home. It included all active home listings from December through June, and markets without at least 10 relevant listings were excluded.

The highest average listing price was $517,153 in Kennebunk/Kennebunkport, followed by $471,695 in York, $436,653 in Wells, $396,591 in Portland/South Portland/Falmouth and $299,542 in Gorham.

The lowest average price was $133,481 in Waterville, followed by $139,552 in Augusta, $169,272 in Lewiston, $172,813 in Gardiner/West Gardiner/Randolph, and $177,382 in Sanford.
