It is always interesting to witness our cool, calm, sophisticated president comment on current events.

While reporting on the terrorist attack in Paris, in which over 120 people were killed and hundreds were injured, he calmly speaks of this “terrible … setback” and assures the nation that if we will just be patient, his nuanced non-strategy against the Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL) will eventually prevail. Wait; give it time; let’s not rush things.

Moreover, he acts like a character in a Harry Potter novel who references evil incarnate as “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named!”

Sure, they scream “Allahu Akbar” as they kill across the world and have established and continue to expand a caliphate that embraces Shariah law, but gee, he does not really want to give ISIS evildoers legitimacy by calling them “Islamic terrorists.” The linguistic gymnastics this man goes through to deny reality are truly embarrassing.

In contrast, the snarky, dismissive demeanor that he assumes when talking about his true enemies, the Republicans, is most interesting to behold. Then he is no longer Mr. Cool.

No, he must mock and call out these miscreants in no uncertain terms. He has done this over many issues during his reign when they do not fall in lockstep with his misguided policies. “We can’t wait” is his frequent wail.

The latest example: “Republicans are un-American” if they question the safety to our country of allowing “Syrian refugees” (nationality really unknown and ability to properly vet impossible) unfettered access to our shores. No patience or care is needed here, he says – we must act now.
