Portland’s winter farmers market will be held in a new location this year, at 84 Cove St. in East Bayside.

Clara Moore, program manager for the market, said the new location is a larger space that can accommodate more farmers.

It will also serve as a new retail space for Swallowtail Farm.

The winter market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, beginning Dec. 5. There will be 22 farmers, live music and two food trucks – El Corazon and Mami.

The winter market has been held since 2010 at various locations around the city, including a storefront on Free Street and the Maine Irish Heritage Center.

It’s been at Urban Farm Fermentory in East Bayside since December 2013. The Fermentory could no longer host the market because of its recent expansion.
