GIRLS

Olivia Bucknam, Greely sophomore, distance: Finished third in the Class B state meet as a freshman (5:47.38) and will be integral in her team’s bid for its first state title in eight years.

Tessa Cassidy, Brunswick senior, distance: Won the 2-mile (11:43.76) and was fourth in the mile (5:27.26) at the Class A state championships.

Alyssa Coyne, Greely senior, thrower/vaulter: Won the shot put at the Class B state championships (39-0) and was third in the pole vault (8-6). Took fifth in the shot put (40-3/4) at New Englands.

Samantha Curran, Thornton Academy, junior thrower: The defending Class A shot put champion (38-0.75) was ninth at the New England Championship (37-3.75).

Emma Egan, Yarmouth senior, sprints/jumps: Set the Class B high jump record (5-4.5) at the state championships. Also was third in the 55 (7.57) and second in the long jump (16-5) at the state meet.

Katherine Leggat-Barr, Greely junior, distance: The two-time Class B cross country champion should make an impact in her first season of indoor track. She was the fastest Mainer (17th overall) at New Englands this fall.

Samantha Pynchon, Greely senior, jumps: Took third in the high jump (4-10) at the Class B state meet last year.

Tiffany Tanner, Brunswick senior, middle distance: Won the 800 at the Class A state meet (2:23.86).

Carolyn Todd, Greely freshman, distance: Placed second in the Class B state cross country meet and finished 20th at the New England meet.

Laura Volan, Scarborough senior, distance: Took second in the mile (5:23.33) and fourth in the 2-mile (12:06.03) at the Class A state meet.

BOYS

Matt Arsenault, York senior, hurdles/jumps: Placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles at the Class B state meet (8.38) and was seventh in the triple jump (39-2.5).

Paolo DeMarco, Deering senior, sprints: Finished third in the 400 at the Class A state meet (52.63) and third in the 55-meter hurdles (8.00).

Dan Guiliani, South Portland senior, thrower: Broke the outdoor state shot put record by more than 2 feet with his winning throw (62-08.25) at the Class A meet.

Griffin Madden, Scarborough senior, hurdles: The runner-up in the 55-meter hurdles at the Class A meet (7.83).

Ethan Orach, Gorham junior, middle distance: Finished third at the Class A state meet in the 800 (2:04.86).

Evan Porter, Traip junior, sprints: The top returning 200-meter finisher (third place, 23.93) from the Class B meet. Also was third in the 55-meter hurdles (8.35).

Colt Santoro, York senior, hurdles/sprints: Won the 55-meter hurdles at the Class B state championship (8.04).

Nick Sanzari, Falmouth senior, sprints: Finished fourth at the Class A state meet in the 200 (23.63) and is the top returning sprinter in the event.

Keenan Welzel, Brunswick junior, middle distance: The top returning 800-meter runner in Class A. Finished second at the state meet (2:01.58).

Xiaoyu Victor Yang, Fryeburg Academy senior, jumper: Won the triple jump (44-41/4) and high jump (6-4) at the Class B state meet. Placed eighth in the high jump at New Englands (6-3).
