Hyperlite Mountain Gear, a manufacturer of ultra-lightweight outdoor equipment, was named the overall winner of the fourth-annual American Made Outdoor Gear Award.
The Biddeford-based company makes ultralight packs, shelters and accessories using Dyneema Cuben fiber in Biddeford’s Pepperell Mill.
Over the past four years, the awards program has received 290 entries from domestic manufacturers. Past overall winners have included Liberty Bottleworks, Benchmade Knives and Sterling Rope.
