John Hichborn, of Rogers Ace Hardware in Bath, has sold the family-owned and operated business to Rocky’s Ace Hardware of Springfield, Massachusetts.
Rogers Ace Hardware has been servicing the MidCoast region for over 140 years. The business was established in 1872 and has operated at its current location, 55 Congress Ave. in Bath, since 1985. Hichborn and the Rogers family have owned and run the business for four generations.
Rocky’s Ace Hardware is also a family-owned and operated business. A press release about the sale says “there will be no interruption or change in the quality level of service. The familiar faces will remain on staff.”
Rocky’s currently operates stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and now Maine.
