Clark leads Red Claws to a win at Fort Wayne

Coty Clark scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Corey Walden added 20 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead the Maine Red Claws (15-13) to a 108-97 win over the Mad Ants (13-14) on Tuesday night at Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Omari Johnson chipped in 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Red Claws, who built a 69-49 halftime lead and led by at least 10 points throughout the second half.

The Mad Ants were led by CJ Fair with 22 points.

MLB: Outfielder Carlos Quentin and the Minnesota Twins agreed to a minor league contract, giving the 33-year-old a chance to revive his career.

The deal would give Quentin a $750,000 salary if he is added to the 40-man roster. He will report to big league spring training.

Infielder Brendan Ryan agreed to a minor league contact with the Washington Nationals.

The 33-year-old is a career .234 hitter with 203 RBI in 879 games.

The Dodgers hired Hall of Fame pitcher Greg Maddux and 19-year veteran Raul Ibanez as special assistants to Andrew Friedman in the team’s front office.

Maddux, 49, a four-time NL Cy Young Award winner, pitched for the Dodgers in 2006 and 2008.

Outfielder Darrell Ceciliani was traded from the Mets to the Blue Jays for cash considerations.

Ceciliani was designated for assignment last week to make room on the roster for Yoenis Cespedes, who is scheduled to address reporters on Wednesday for the first time since his unexpected reunion with the Mets.

JURISPRUDENCE: Neymar and his father maintained their innocence after appearing before a judge in an investigation into alleged irregularities regarding the player’s transfer to Barcelona.

The Brazilian striker was in court for more than an hour and a half, and his father – who is also his agent – was questioned for nearly three hours.

ARGENTINA: Boca Juniors’ ban for crowd violence last season in the Copa Libertadores tournament has been reduced from eight matches to two by South American soccer federation CONMEBOL.

The ban was imposed after Boca fans at La Bombonera stadium used mustard gas to attack players from Buenos Aires rival River Plate in a round of 16, second-leg match in May in South America’s top club tournament.

U.S.: The second leg of the United States’ Olympic men’s soccer qualifying playoff against Colombia will be played on March 29 at Frisco, Texas.

The home-and-home, total-goals playoff opens March 25 at Barranquilla, Colombia.

The U.S. is seeking its first berth in the men’s Olympic tournament since 2008.

Olympic men’s qualifying is limited to players 23 or younger.

WBC: WBC middleweight champion Saul Alvarez will defend his title against British boxer Amir Khan, who is jumping two weight divisions for the fight in Las Vegas on May 7.

Alvarez beat Miguel Cotto in a unanimous points decision in November. The 25-year-old Mexican has lost once in 48 fights, to Floyd Mayweather in 2013.

Khan, a former world light-welterweight champion, hasn’t fought since beating Chris Algieri on points last May.
