After months of listening to Donald Trump insult, demean, degrade and otherwise cast aspersions onto his opponents, while bragging about his perceived accomplishments and grandiose plans for the future with no details whatsoever, all in an attempt to heighten his status in others’ eyes, it occurred to me that I have heard this bluster and experienced this moment before.

Then it hit me. Recently my 12-year-old granddaughter spent a weekend at my home. I asked how her first year of junior high school was going, and her response enlightened me.

She shared stories of classmates insulting, demeaning, degrading and otherwise casting aspersions on other students, kids bragging about perceived accomplishments and grandiose plans for the future, all in attempt at heightening their status in others’ eyes.

Thank you, Mr. Trump, for allowing me to experience the worst of junior high school all over again.

Not the attributes I look for in a president.
