An unidentified odor in the boiler room of Greely High School forced school officials to evcauate the building shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters were on scene checking out the offending scent, said Scott Poulin, director of finance, human resources and operations for MSAD-51.

“It’s basically a gas smell,” Poulin said. “We’re just taking the precaution.”

All high school students and staff were evacuated to the nearby middle school, Poulin said, until fire personnel could clear the building.
