OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Sam Custeau scored on an offensive rebound of a missed free throw in the final minute of overtime Wednesday night to help seventh-seeded Old Orchard Beach to a 68-65 victory against 10th-seeded Monmouth Academy in a Class C South schoolboy basketball prelim.

The Seagulls (14-5) will meet second-seeded Winthrop in the quarterfinals at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Augusta Civic Center.

Old Orchard led by 10 points with four minutes remaining in regulation, but Luke Thombs hit all six of his 3-pointers in the final quarter to give Monmouth (11-8) a 63-61 lead with less than a minute left.

Erik Hogan hit two free throws with eight seconds left for the Seagulls to force overtime. Hogan finished with 24 points and Zach Hirst added 19 for Old Orchard.

Thombs finished with 22 points and Hunter Richardson added 19 for the Mustangs.

WISCASSET 83, BUCKFIELD 39: Ethan James scored 28 points with eight rebounds to lead the fifth-seeded Wolverines (14-5) over the 12th-seeded Bucks (12-7) in a Class C South prelim at Wiscasset.

Cody Roberts added 17 points and seven rebounds for Wiscasset, which outscored Buckfield 45-14 in the second half.

The Wolverines will face fourth-seeded Waynflete (16-2) in the quarterfinals at 8 p.m. Monday at the Augusta Civic Center.

Ethan Jackson led Buckfield with 14 points. Jacob Kraske added 13.

BOOTHBAY 43, HALL-DALE 34: The sixth-seeded Seahawks (12-7) were 7 of 8 from the foul line in the final minute to pull away from 11th-seeded Hall-Dale (11-8) in a Class C South prelim at Boothbay Harbor.

Kyle Ames scored 21 points for Boothbay, which will play third-seeded Madison (15-3) in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. Monday at the Augusta Civic Center.

Tyler Nadeau led Hall-Dale with 11 points.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

CARRABEC 58, HYDE 38: Kate Stevens scored 17 points and Liberty Chestnut added 14 as the seventh-seeded Cobras (12-7) handled the 10th-seeded Phoenix (6-12) in a Class C South prelim at North Anson.

Carrabec will meet Boothbay at 1 p.m. Monday at the Augusta Civic Center.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

WATERVILLE 3, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Jackson Aldrich had a goal and an assist to pace the Purple Panthers (15-1-1) over Camden Hills (13-3) at Rockport.

James Orne scored a power-play goal for Camden Hills.

LAKE REGION/FRYEBURG/OXFORD HILLS 1, LAWRENCE/SKOWHEGAN 1: Trent Spaulding made 33 saves for Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills (3-10-2) in a tie with the Bulldogs (4-10-1) at Winslow.

Caleb Currier scored the only goal for Lake Region. Nolan Despres scored for Lawrence/Skowhegan.

WINDHAM/WESTBROOK 5,POLAND/GRAY-NG/OAK HILL 2: Gage Chenard had two goals and an assist to lead Windham/Westbrook (12-4) over Poland/Gray-New Gloucester/Oak Hill (0-16) at Auburn.

Windham/Westbrook took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period, then added two goals in the second and two in the third.

Jonah Bergeron and Gabe Bergeron scored for the 26ers.

MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE 11, LEAVITT 8: Noah Austin had five goals and an assist, Mark Abreu added two goals and four assists, and Tyler Lacascio totaled two goals and two assists as Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse (9-5-1) topped the Hornets (5-12-1) at Auburn.
