They can’t put the rabbit back in the hat, and it’s fun to listen to the hatemongers who created Donald Trump’s success. The establishment of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Howie Carr, Mark Levin and Fox News are in fear of Trump or Ted Cruz becoming the Republican nominee. The establishment within which they operate is terrified of both, and it looks as though they are stuck with Marco Rubio, who couldn’t get on their “hate the immigrants” train fast enough.

These talk show puppets will be telling Americans that this almost adolescent, totally inexperienced, opportunist Rubio is the best-suited person in America to be our president. They said the same thing about Sarah Palin, a heartbeat away from the presidency, putting her in with Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower.

Think about it! How far will those entertainers go? Have they no shame?

Rubio and Cruz are loudly competing as to which one is the most Christian and anti-immigrant; “hypocrites” is the suitable noun here.

I am a Catholic, not overtly religious, but I do read the Bible and listen to my priests. For instance: “When a foreigner lives with you in your land, do not ill-treat him. The foreigner living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself …” (Leviticus 19:33-34). Or Deuteronomy 10:19: “Love your neighbor as yourself; love the foreigner as yourself.”

When Jesus was asked, “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” (in Luke 10:24-37), his answer included, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” And in Matthew 25:35: “I was a stranger and you took me in.”

How do they square that with their presidential campaigns?

My father and grandparents were immigrants. I am eternally grateful for the “real” Americans of those days who took them in.
