A Lebanon man was arrested Friday night after police stopped his vehicle on the Maine Turnpike in Scarborough and found drugs and guns inside.
David Alexandre, 22, was charged with trafficking in marijuana but could face additional charges. He was taken Friday to Cumberland County Jail but had not posted bail as of Saturday, according to a jail official.
A Maine State Police trooper pulled over Alexandre’s Chevrolet Suburban at about 6 p.m. Friday in the northbound lane of the turnpike near mile 41 and conducted a search of the vehicle. The trooper found an unspecified amount of processed marijuana as well as two firearms, an AK-47 rifle and a shotgun, according to a news release from state police.
