Kenney is the former facilities manager for Windham Schools and Idexx Laboratories. He will oversee a staff of nine on the 138-acre campus, which consists of two main buildings and administrative offices, over 160 residences and cottages, a wood shop and a maintenance building.

Drake, of Portland, graduated in December of 2015 from the University of Maine with a degree in accounting. She completed an audit internship with another local accounting firm and joined the Dawson, Smith, Purvis & Bassett team upon graduation.

J&J Mercier Enterprises has hired Leslie Gary to manage The Lobster Cooker restaurant. She has years of experience in the food service industry.
Eric Murphy will take over the duties as manager of the Freeport Café.

Verrill Dana has hired Kelly Donahue to the firm’s intellectual property group in Portland.
Donahue was previously an associate at Locke Lord in Boston.

Baker Newman Noyes has hired 12 interns for its Portland office in preparation for tax season.
The following students will intern at the firm during the spring 2016 semester:
Jennifer Day, of West Gardiner; Addison Dunn, of Dayton; and Mikenzi Merrill, of Waterford; who all attend Thomas College.
Also joining the firm as interns are Katrina Lyons, of Cornville; Andrew Perkins, of Somersworth, New Hampshire; Benjamin Staples, of Rockland; Dylan Wetmore, of Madawaska; and Megan Wittine, of Corinth; who each attend Husson University.
Other interns include Danielle Hansen, of Portland, and Wren Saunders, of Gorham, students at the University of Maine School of Law; Nathaniel Marcet, of Gorham, a student at the University of Southern Maine; and Alexia Pappas, of Cape Elizabeth, who attends McGill University.

Hospice of Southern Maine has hired Shannon Barnicle, RN, as the house manager of Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
Barnicle was formerly the clinical director of operations for Sentry at Home Comprehensive Home Care in York. She lives in South Berwick.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland has hired Molly Brake as director of family services.
Brake previously worked as the director of operations and administration at The Progress Center in Norway. Prior to that she was the director of finance and human resources for the town of Naples.

PROMOTIONS
Bristol Seafood has promoted Peter Handy to president and chief executive officer.
Handy previously served as vice president of business development.

Outgoing CEO Darrell Pardy will stay on board as senior vice president of sales. Both founders, Pardy and Ray Swenton continue to be shareholders and serve on the board of directors, with Swenton as chairman.
Also promoted was Brian Pomerleau to senior vice president of operations.

Michael Geneseo

Broadreach Public Relations promoted Michael Geneseo to senior account executive.
Geneseo, of South Portland, works with clients in professional services, health care and technology sectors. He joined the firm in 2013 and was most recently an account executive.

 

GENERAL BUSINESS
J&J Mercier Enterprises has expanded to a third business, The Lobster Cooker and Sports Pub, on 39 Main St. in Freeport.
With this move, J&J Mercier Enterprises has promoted Jeffrey Mercier to chief executive officer. Mercier will continue his position as chief financial officer.
Amy Gilles was also promoted to general manager of both the Freeport Café and The Lobster Cooker.
