WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Sigi Koizar scored 15 points and Mikaela Gustafsson added 11 to lead the University of Maine women’s basketball team to its 11th straight win, a 50-44 victory over Hartford on Wednesday.

Maine (23-7, 14-1 America East) matched its win total from last year as Koizar led the Black Bears in scoring for the 20th game this season. Koizar is now 15th all time in Maine career scoring, moving past Stacey Porrini (1,128) and Missy Traversi (1,130).

Janelle Harrison’s 10 points led Hartford (11-17, 7-8).

(1) UCONN 88, SMU 41: Freshman Katie Lou Samuelson matched her season high with 21 points as the Huskies secured their third consecutive American Athletic Conference regular-season championship.

Breanna Stewart added 14 points and UConn (27-0, 16-0) extended its winning streak to 64 games, the third-longest winning streak in NCAA and team history .

UConn is  58-0 against AAC teams during the conference’s three-year history, a record that includes both conference tournament games.

MINNESOTA 90, (5) OHIO STATE 88: Rachel Banham scored 35 points in her final game at Williams Arena and Carlie Wagner scored with 0.8 seconds left in overtime to lift Minnesota (19-9, 11-6 Big Ten) to an upset at Minneapolis.

Shayla Cooper had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Buckeyes (23-5, 10-7).

(8) TEXAS 76, TEXAS TECH 55: Kelsey Lang scored 12 points, including eight on a crucial second-quarter run as the Longhorns (25-2, 14-2 Big 12) won at Lubbock, Texas, for their 25th straight win overall.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

HARTFORD 82, MAINE 74: Pancake Thomas scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Hawks earned a win at Bangor.

Thomas was 7 of 16 from the field including five 3-pointers for the Hawks (9-21, 4-11 America East).

Thomas hit a 3-pointer with 8:55 to go in the first half to give Hartford a 26-22 lead. But Maine finished the period on a 19-8 surge to take a 41-34 advantage at halftime.

Issac Vann scored 23 points and had eight rebounds for the Black Bears (8-20, 4-11).

(5) XAVIER 90, (1) VILLANOVA 83: J.P. Macura got Xavier rolling with 19 points off the bench, and freshman point guard Edmond Sumner had 19 points and nine assists as host Xavier (25-3, 13-3) knocked off the top-seeded Wildcats (24-4, 13-2).

(7) UNC 80, NC STATE 68: Brice Johnson had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the visiting Tar Heels.

Justin Jackson added 17 points for North Carolina (23-5, 12-3 Atlantic Coast Conference).

(11) LOUISVILLE 67, PITTSBURGH 60: Quentin Snider scored 14 points and Damion Lee added 13 as the Cardinals (22-6, 11-4 ACC) pulled away for a win at Pittsburgh.

MEN’S LACROSSE

BATES 14, ENDICOTT 10: Andrew Melvin scored three goals and assisted on five others as the Bobcats opened their season with a victory against the Gulls (0-1) at Beverly, Massachusetts.

Jack Allard added three goals and an assist for Bates.
