David Levi, the chef/owner of Vinland on Congress Street, has renamed his newest project: The provisionally named Vinbar will now be known as Rossobianco.

Rossobianco will be a natural wine bar and casual restaurant located at 3 Deering Ave. in Portland’s Bramhall Square area. The restaurant will feature northern Italian dishes such as risotto and polenta, and is expected to open sometime in May.

“My family on my dad’s side is northern Italian,” Levi said. “My family’s from Venice and Milan. I’ve spent a lot of time there, and it’s really the cuisine I grew up with. I’ve always had a very deep love for it. We have great Italian food in Portland already, but no one is doing northern Italian, so I think it’s bringing something fun to flesh out those offerings here in town.”

Levi said the restaurant will not be gluten-free or 100 percent local like Vinland, but it will serve “a great deal” of local produce.
