An Aroostook County couple was arrested on methamphetamine charges Tuesday, their second arrest in eight months.

James Anthony, 31, and Kayla Nason, 26, were arrested along with Nason’s mother, Tara Walton, 48, in a cabin on Townline Road in Ludlow, outside Houlton, by Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents who were conducting a bail check stemming from charges against Anthony and Nason last year.

The three were charged with trafficking in meth and were taken to the Aroostook County Jail. Anthony and Walton were also charged with violating bail conditions.

The MDEA’s meth lab response team returned to the cabin Wednesday to gather evidence and dispose of the chemicals.

Anthony and Nason were arrested in June 2015 after deputies discovered they were cooking meth inside their car on Ludlow Road. Nason was treated and released for chemical burns at the time, resulting from exposure to methamphetamine.

Tuesday’s arrests were the 12th meth-related incident in Maine this year.
