A New York City man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the 2014 shooting deaths of two men in Biddeford, Maine State Police said Tuesday.

Fuquan Prince Wilson, 36, was arrested in New York City on Monday in connection with the fatal shootings of Russell Lavoie, 42, and Jeffrey Lude, 37, inside an apartment on 19 Western Ave. in Biddeford on July 6, 2014, according to a statement by state police spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Wilson is charged with two counts of murder and a single charge of possessing a firearm by a prohibited person, McCausland said.

Wilson was originally wanted on the firearms charge, but he was secretly indicted in February by the York County grand jury in connection with both killings, McCausland said.

U.S. marshals arrested Wilson in the Bronx. He is being held in Manhattan pending extradition proceedings that will return him to Maine.
