A Cumberland County sheriff’s deputy discovered a methamphetamine lab in a garage in Raymond on Tuesday morning while checking on a probation violation of an employee, according to state police.

James Foss of Raymond, who was arrested on drug charges last summer, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of violating his probation and taken to the Cumberland County Jail, state police spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a press release.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency dismantled the lab Tuesday afternoon, he said.

The owner of the garage at 1261 Roosevelt Trail was not aware of the activity, according to the press release.
