South Portland-based WEX Inc. has hired Roberto Simon, the former chief financial officer of Revlon Inc., to serve as its new CFO.

WEX, which creates and manages payment systems for transportation, health care and other industries, said its former CFO, Steve Elder, will remain with the company to take on the newly created position of senior vice president of global investor relations. WEX, which reported revenues of $854 million in 2015, maintains offices in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Singapore and throughout Europe.

New York-based cosmetics and personal care products firm Revlon has lost two members of its senior management in recent days. In addition to Simon’s departure, company CEO Lorenzo Delpani also announced that he would be stepping down from his position this week for personal reasons, but will remain on the board of directors as a paid adviser.
