I was disappointed, but not surprised, when I read the Portland Press Herald’s editorial endorsement (Our View, Feb. 29) of Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and learned that although the Press Herald is “concerned about his advocacy against a woman’s right to choose,” he is the best candidate for the Republican presidential nomination because “there is no pro-abortion rights candidate in the race.”

There it is again. An unfortunate choice of words by someone who should have known better.

By using the phrase “pro-abortion” instead of “pro-choice,” the Press Herald has set back the very cause it professes to support.
