WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Brady Roberts had three hits and drove in four runs, Mike Formella pitched a three-hitter, and Concordia University (Illinois) blanked St. Joseph’s College 5-0 on Thursday.

The Cougars (6-2) opened the scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning and added three more in the third on a bases-loaded double by Roberts.

Taylor Black hit a pair of singles for the Monks (4-2).

Max McCoomb had the other hit.

SOFTBALL

AURORA 7, ST. JOSEPH’S 2: Amie Raynor had three hits, scored three runs and drove in one to pace a 14-hit attack for the Spartans (5-3) against St. Joseph’s (4-4) in the Monks’ opening game of the day at Clermont, Florida.

Jennifer Murphy and Kristal Smith each hit RBI singles in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Monks to cut their deficit to 3-2.

The Spartans responded with four runs in the top of the seventh. Shannon Laubauskas added two hits and scored a run for the Monks.

MORAVIAN 7, ST. JOSEPH’S 4: Julia Siragusa hit a double and a triple and drove in three runs, and Moravian (7-0) scored five runs in the first two innings on the way to a win over the Monks in their second game of the day.

The Monks got two runs back in the top of the fourth inning on a double by Megen Pollini.

St. Joseph’s added two runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Jennifer Murphy and an RBI single by Mariah Harrison.
