I would like to reach out to our legislators and urge them to approve L.D. 633, which gives affordable, preventative healthcare to all Maine citizens. Not every person in Maine is eligible for either MaineCare or healthcare.gov insurances. Many fall through the healthcare cracks due to low income, no minor children or monthly fees that are still out of reach.

Medications are extremely expensive. MaineCare offers slight discounts on medications.

However, these amount to low discounts on high medication costs. Not much savings are offered without paying exorbitant monthly insurance fees.

I personally know many people in Maine struggling to afford their medications and healthcare.

I’ve been fighting this same battle. I’ve recently purchased an affordable Healthcare Insurance Marketplace policy with restrictions on what is included or which type of physician is covered with high annual out-of-pocket deductions before the insurance offers payment. Please pass L.D. 633 to give all Maine residents a productive healthy lifestyle.
