Jean Ginn Marvin of the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport has been elected chair of the Maine Innkeepers Association Board of Directors for her first term in 2016, according to a release from the trade association.

Jeanne Carpentier of Emerald Hospitality, which has several Maine hotels under management, will serve as past chair. Carpentier is also treasurer of the association’s Education Foundation, and Marvin serves on the boards of New England Inns & Resorts and the Maine Community College System.

Phil Kronenthal from the Migis Hotel Group joined the association’s executive committee, and Jamey Kitchen of Hampton Inn & Suites in Thomaston moved from second to first vice chair. Scott Cowger of Maple Hill Farm B&B Inn in Hallowell became the second vice chairll.

Ron Churchill of Bear Spring Camps in Rome succeeds Peter Daigle as senior adviser. Daigle retired from a long career with Lafayette Hotels and Erin Cos.

Other officers include treasurer Bob Smith of Sebasco Harbor Resort in Sebasco Estates, at-large member Chip Gray of the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, and at-large member Matthew Levin of the Lord Camden Inn in Camden.

The innkeepers association represents more than 500 lodging properties of all sizes and works to promote and improve the lodging industry in Maine.
