NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Sam Dexter hit two home runs and drove in six runs as the University of Southern Maine clobbered Framingham State 16-5 Tuesday in baseball.

Dexter, Nick DiBiase, Kip Richard and Jake Glauser each had three hits apiece for the 14th-ranked Huskies (7-4), who finished with 19 hits.

The Rams dropped to 3-8.

Dexter finished 3 for 5 and scored three times, and DiBiase went 3 for 4, also scoring three times.

Southern Maine, leading 7-3, scored six runs in the top of the seventh.

Jack Donnelly picked up the win, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out five in 52/3 innings.

BATES 12, ENDICOTT 11: Bates had 17 hits and Jake Shapiro went 2 for 5 with three RBI as the Bobcats (7-8) held on for a win over Endicott (7-5) in Beverly, Massachusetts.

John Dinucci went 4 for 5 and scored twice for Bates, and Asher MacDonald hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth to give the Bobcats a 12-9 lead.

Brendan Fox had three hits, and Ryan McCarthy, Conor Reenstierna, Jake Shapiro and MacDonald each had two hits apiece.

Connor Russell picked up the win in relief for Bates, pitching 22/3 innings and striking out six, allowing two runs on two hits.

Rob DiFranco picked up his second save of the season.

NORTHERN ESSEX CC 15, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 3: John Sirois went 2 for 3 with a home run and drove in six runs to lead the Knights (3-11) over the Seawolves (9-14) in a game shortened to five inning in South Portland.

Nicholas Bruno picked up the win, allowing three hits over five innings. He struck out five for the Knights, who scored their runs in the first four innings.

Shawn Murphy led the Seawovles with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third.

Nathaniel Cyr and Caleb Burpee each had a hit for SMCC.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

BATES 17, SOUTHERN MAINE 5: Moriah Greenstein had three goals and six assists to lead the Bobcats (8-1) over the Huskies (1-4) at Garcelon Field in Lewiston.

Emma Noto, Sydney Howard, Camille Belletete, Lili Brown and Sydney Cowles each added a pair of goals for Bates, which scored the first four goals of the game and took a 13-2 lead at halftime. Howard added two assists.

Sarah Pelligrinelli and Heather Everett each had two goals for the Huskies.

COLBY 15, HUSSON 1: Sasha Fritts had three goals and three assists to lead the eighth-ranked Mules (5-1) over the Eagles (1-4) at Boucher Field in Bangor.

Fritts scored the first two goals of the game, and McGara DeWan scored four goals – three in the first half – for Colby, which led 10-0 at halftime.

Grace McVey added two goals and a pair of assists for Colby, and Dana Swaffield added two more goals.

Amanda Deshaies scored Husson’s goal with 9:15 left in the second half.

BOWDOIN 12, BABSON 6: Shawn Daly had four goals and an assist to power the 14th-ranked Polar Bears (6-1) over the Beavers (1-6) at Ryan Field in Brunswick.

Babson took a 2-1 lead in the first quarter, but Bowdoin scored five of the next six goals to take a 6-3 halftime lead.

Peter Reuter, Matthew Crowell, Daniel Bickman and Clayton Wright each added two goals and an assist for the Black Bears.

Peter Mumford saved 13 shots for Bowdoin.

SOFTBALL

NORTHERN ESSEX CC 19, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 1: The Knights (1-0) scored 10 runs in the top of the first as they cruised to a shortened five-inning win over the Seawolves (2-8) in South Portland.

Abigail Nielsen scored for the Seawolves on an error in the bottom of the fifth.
