The RAM Cos., a development company based in Scarborough, has acquired an almost 100,000-square-foot medical property in Billerica, Massachusetts.

The property, purchased for $8.1 million, is home to a New England Rehabilitation outpatient clinic as well as a primary-care facility of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, among others, according to a news release from the company.

The acquisition bolsters RAM’s portfolio of income-producing commercial and industrial properties along the Northwest Expressway corridor outside Boston.

RAM is planning improvements to the property, whose tenants include Lahey Health Primary Care; New England Rehabilitation Hospital; and SI2 Technologies, a defense contractor that designs, develops and manufactures antennas, arrays and absorber systems for the military.
