Travel back to the 18th century and toast your ancestors with a flip, syllabub or stone fence.
Those are all Colonial libations that were popular in the 18th century, and they’ll be available for tasting after a presentation on the evolution of the American cocktail at 6 p.m. Friday at the Museums of Old York, 3 Lindsay Road.
Michael Jack Pazdon of The Wallingford Dram in Kittery will speak; then at 6:45 p.m., guests will move to the historic Jefferds Tavern, part of the Museums at Old York, at 6 Lindsay Road to sample drinks. Small bites will be prepared over the hearth.
The event costs $45, or $40 for members of the Old York Historical Society. Reservations are recommended. Call 363-1756 or go online to oldyork.org/events.html.
