Biddeford fire and rescue personnel revived a man with two doses of Narcan Tuesday night after he overdosed while driving, lost consciousness and crashed into a parked car at the Papa John’s pizza shop on Elm Street.
Narcan is used to counteract the potentially deadly effects of an overdose of opiates, such as heroin or prescription painkillers.
Behind the wheel was Corey Lyons, 26, of Arundel, according to police. When Lyons was revived, he told police that he had stolen the 2006 Honda Odyssey he was driving from Everett, Mass.
Lyons was transported to an area hospital before being jailed.
For the car crash, Lyons was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license, issued a summons for driving a stolen car, which was upgraded to a felony because of prior theft convictions. In addition to those charges, Lyons is wanted for two burglaries in New Hampshire, and had an outstanding warrant in Maine for an unpaid fine of $690 related to a prior charge of operating under the influence.
