WELLS — Anya Chase went 4 for 4 and scored five runs Wednesday as Wells sent Gray-New Gloucester to its first softball loss, scoring an 18-14 victory in a Western Maine Conference game.

Hannah Moody had a pair of doubles and drove in four runs, and Sam Bogue added three hits, including a double, triple and three RBI for Wells (2-1).

Skye Conley of Gray-New Gloucester (4-1) went 3 for 5 with five RBI, including a two-run homer in the seventh inning.

GORHAM 25, CHEVERUS 1: Lindsey Wilcox pitched a three-hitter as the Rams (3-0) defeated the Stags (0-3) in five innings at Portland.

The Rams scored 10 runs in the top of the first inning before the Stags scored in the bottom half.

Emily Murray, one of the seven players with multiple hits for Gorham, finished with five hits and seven RBI, including a home run in the fifth inning that completed the cycle.

Wilcox gave up three hits and two walks, striking out four.

CAPE ELIZABETH 5, FALMOUTH 4: Maggie Baker singled home Maddie Culkin in the seventh inning to lift the Capers (2-2) over Falmouth (2-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

The Yachtsmen had tied the game in the top of the seventh when Allison Murphy capped a three-run rally with an RBI single up the third-base line.

Tess Haller had two hits and scored twice, Culkin also had two hits and Megan Nicholson added two runs for Cape Elizabeth. Maddie Rouhana had a pair of hits and a run for Falmouth.

BIDDEFORD 12, MCAULEY 0: Kirsten Lebreux went 3 for 3 with three RBI and scored three runs, and struck out 10 as the Tigers (2-1) defeated the Lions (1-2) in five innings at Biddeford.

Biddeford scored four runs in the first inning, including a two-run homer by Brittany Roy, and added three in the fourth and four in the fifth.

Roy was 3 for 3 and scored twice, and Brook Davis added a pair of doubles for the Tigers.

Lillie Donovan had two hits for McAuley.

PORTLAND 11, WESTBROOK 2: Sydney Gilbert struck out seven and walked one as the Bulldogs (2-1) downed the Blue Blazes (1-2) at Westbrook.

Annie Twombly had a pair of hits for Portland.

Morgan Rice had two singles and Camryn LaPierre added a triple for Westbrook.

YORK 17, FREEPORT 0: Stephanie Rundlett struck out 12 while allowing one hit as York (2-1) shut out the Falcons (1-2) in five innings at Freeport.

Wendy Donnell led the Wildcats’ 17-hit offense with four hits. Rundlett added three, and Julia Babcock, Julia Harrod, Olivia Coughlin and Kiley Blondin had two hits each.

Lauren Briggs singled in the third for Freeport.

BONNY EAGLE 5, MARSHWOOD 4: Nell Spencer scored on a bases-loaded walk, Lauryn Fagan on a passed ball and Sarah Champagne on an error as the Scots (1-2) took advantage of mistakes to open a 3-0 lead over Marshwood (0-2) in the second inning at Standish.

Spencer singled home a run and also scored to extend the Bonny Eagle lead to 5-1 in the fourth.

Emersyn Colbath-Stevens and Maddie Eastman scored twice each for the Hawks.

SCARBOROUGH 34, DEERING 0: Chloe Gorey and Maggie Murphy each collected five hits as the Red Storm (3-0) beat the Rams (1-2) in five innings at Portland.

Leading 6-0, Scarborough scored 16 runs in the fourth.

Chloe Griffin and Emily Jefferds each had three of the Red Storm’s 28 hits.

THORNTON ACADEMY 19, MASSABESIC 2: The Golden Trojans (2-1) scored eight runs in the fourth, including a two-run homer to left-center by Hannah Collins, and beat the Mustangs (2-1) in five innings at Saco.

Jenica Botting hit a second-inning grand slam and a pair of singles, and Libby Pomerleau had two doubles and a solo homer in the first inning, finishing with two RBI.

SANFORD 11, NOBLE 5: Nicole Main hit a three-run homer, part of an eight-run sixth inning that helped the Spartans (2-1) beat the Knights (1-2) at Sanford.

Main’s three-run homer, an RBI single by Jen Jones, a two-run single by Morgan Coleman and a two-run single by Julia Allen highlighted the sixth.

Main finished with two hits and four RBI.

WINDHAM 7, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Danielle Tardiff pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks to lead the Eagles (1-1) over the Red Riots (1-2) at South Portland.

Tardiff also hit a two-run triple in the second inning. The Red Riots’ hit was a double by Taylor Bacheldor.

LACROSSE

KENNEBUNK 14, YORK 2: Jenny Bush scored six goals to lead the Rams (2-0) over the Wildcats (1-1) at York.

Isabella Kudas stopped 10 shots, Kyra Schwartzman added three goals and Gabby Fogg had two for Kennebunk. Alexandra Lawlor and Alana Lauersen answered for York.

MARSHWOOD 16, MCAULEY 4: Regan Nichols had five goals and a pair of assists for the Hawks (2-0), who took a 13-1 halftime lead and rolled past the Lions (0-1) at South Berwick.

Hannah Costin had four goals and an assist, and Luci Albers added three goals for Marshwood, which had nine players score.

Kaeli Leddy led McAuley with three goals, Zoe Mauer also scored.
