SCARBOROUGH — Jack Hughes hit an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday to lift Scarborough to a 2-1 win over Windham in an SMAA baseball game.

Mitchell Wedge pitched a five-hitter for the Red Storm (4-0), striking out five and walking one.

Mike Gilman of Windham (2-3) scattered 10 hits. He also had five strikeouts and one walk.

Gilman’s RBI single gave Windham a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Scarborough tied the game in the bottom of the fifth.

SOUTH PORTLAND 8, NOBLE 5: Reliever Drew Abramson held Noble (0-4) scoreless over the last four innings as the Red Riots (4-0) rallied for a victory in South Portland.

Sam Troiano doubled home pinch runner Jack Kunin to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth, then scored the go-ahead run on Ben Conti’s triple. Conti came home on Abramson’s sacrifice fly.

Tyler Oliver had three of Noble’s 15 hits and drove home a run.

CHEVERUS 7, SANFORD 0: Alex Jacobs pitched a two-hitter, striking out nine and walking none, while leading the Stags (2-1) to a win over Sanford (0-5) in Portland.

Logan McCarthy had two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI to lead the Cheverus offense. Jack Casale and Jared Brooks contributed two hits apiece.

Frankie Veino went five innings for the Spartans, striking out seven with no walks.

GORHAM 10, MARSHWOOD 5: Gerek Brown had a pair of hits and drove in two runs, including an RBI single during a four-run third inning that gave the Rams (1-2) the lead for good against the Hawks (2-3) at South Berwick.

Logan Drouin allowed four runs, one earned, on five hits while striking out five batters and walking one over six innings to earn the win.

The Rams were held to six hits but benefited from nine errors.

Marshwood opened a 3-0 lead on a two-run homer by Ryan O’Neil in the second inning.

Holden Jackman added a solo homer in the seventh for the Hawks. Jackman and Cole McDaniel had two hits apiece.

WESTBROOK 10, BIDDEFORD 7: Bailey Sawyer scored the go-ahead run on an error and Bailey Ryan added a two-run double as the Blue Blazes (1-2) broke a tie in the seventh inning against the Tigers (0-4) at Biddeford.

Westbrook trailed 7-5 going into the sixth inning but tied the game on a two-run single by D.J. Henrickson.

Curtis Petit hit a bases-loaded triple during a five-run third inning for the Tigers and added RBI single in the fifth as Biddeford scored twice to go ahead 7-5.

TRAIP ACADEMY 9, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1: Trevor Sawtelle pitched a four-hitter for the Rangers (2-3) in a win over the Panthers (2-2) in Kittery.

Traip opened a 2-0 lead in the first two innings before taking control with a four-run third. Charlie Driscoll singled home a run during the decisive rally and also scored.

Hunter Sawtelle had two singles and a pair of runs scored for Traip. Colemen Pelkey stole two bases and scored twice.

RICHMOND 10, BUCKFIELD 0: Matt Holt allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out eight as the Bobcats (1-2) won a five-inning game in Buckfield.

Tyler Soucy had a single, a double, a triple and two RBI.

Jake Kraske recorded the lone hit for Buckfield (1-3).

WINDHAM 13, EDWARD LITTLE 12: Zach Hough scored with 40 seconds remaining in overtime to lift Windham (3-0) to a victory over the Red Eddies (1-3) in Auburn.

Ganan Mancini of Edward Little tied the game with 1:19 remaining in regulation.

Hough led the Eagles with seven goals and an assist. Bryce Rolfe added two goals and an assist, while Jason Nielsen controlled the midfield for the Eagles with eight loose balls and two assists.

Mancini led EL with six goals and an assist.

Matt Verrill collected two goals and two assists.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 20, LINCOLN ACADEMY 1: Jeremiah Schrader, Evan Caracciolo, Caleb Eklund, Jared Chisari and Caleb Bowles scored three times each as the Raiders (2-1) dominated the Eagles (2-2) in Fryeburg.

Ryan Caracciolo added a pair of goals and four assists.

Nate Simmons scored for Lincoln.

CHEVERUS 9, KENNEBUNK 7: Michael Hatch, Jesse Pierce and Alex Nason scored two goals apiece to lead the Stags (2-1) over the Rams (1-2) in Portland.

Frank Curran got the eventual winning goal in the final seconds of the third quarter.

Bo Beveridge and Brenden Whitten each scored a pair of goals for Kennebunk.

BRUNSWICK 11, YARMOUTH 7: Aiden Glover scored five goals to pace Brunswick (4-0) to a victory over the Clippers (1-2) in Yarmouth.

Josh Dorr added a pair of goals.

Matt Beatty had three goals and an assist for Yarmouth.

THORNTON ACADEMY 10, WAYNFLETE 6: The Trojans (3-0) rallied from a 6-4 halftime deficit to beat the Flyers (1-2) in Portland.

CAMDEN HILLS 13, MT. BLUE 1: Calvin Cameron scored five goals as the Windjammers (4-0) rolled over the Cougars (1-2) in Farmington.

Jonah Cameron added three goals, while Kieran Lydon and John Chilton each scored twice.

PORTLAND 16, OAK HILL 5: Robert Nolan scored six goals and Sam Shaw added three as Portland (2-2) rolled to a victory in Wales.

Steven Gilbert and Gabe Bergeron each scored two goals for the Raiders (0-3).

CONY 11, WINSLOW 8: The Rams (3-0) scored five straight goals in the third quarter to pull away from the Black Raiders (1-2) in Waterville.
