CAPE ELIZABETH — Megan Nicholson had three hits, including a solo homer, and scored four runs Tuesday to lead Cape Elizabeth to a 19-9 victory against Sacopee Valley in a Western Maine Conference softball game.

The Capers (4-2) took control by scoring nine runs in the third inning against the Hawks (2-2).

Tess Haller added four hits and four RBI, and Anna Torre finished with three hits and also drove in four runs for Cape.

WELLS 13, LAKE REGION 3: Sam Bogue went 3 for 4 with two doubles, three RBI and three runs to pace an 18-hit offense for the Warriors (3-2) against the Lakers (1-4) in a five-inning game at Wells.

Anya Chase and Sara Ring added two hits, two RBI and two runs apiece for the Warriors, and Chase was also the winning pitcher, striking out eight and walking four in a six-hitter.

Jacqueline Morse hit a pair of singles for the Lakers.

GORHAM 17, WESTBROOK 6: Trailing 4-0, the Rams (4-0) scored eight runs in the bottom of the first inning and pulled away from the Blue Blazes (1-3) at Gorham.

Carli Labreque of Gorham went 4 for 5 with a double and triple, Lindsey Wilcox went 3 for 4 with four RBI, and Grace McGouldrick was 2 for 4, driving in three runs.

Kallie Cyr, Yasmin Mallari and Emily Talbot had triples for Westbrook.

BIDDEFORD 13, NOBLE 4: Erin Martin had a pair of hits, including a three-run homer, to lead the Tigers (4-1) against the Knights (2-3) at North Berwick.

Brittany Roy and Kirsten Lebreux finished with three hits apiece, and Jocelyn Moody, Grace Martin and Alex Chase each added two hits for Biddeford.

Tyler Chastney had three hits and scored for Noble.

THORNTON ACADEMY 12, PORTLAND 3: Libby Pomerleau drove in three runs and the Trojans (4-1) used a 10-run seventh inning to pull away from the Bulldogs (3-2) at Portland.

Pomerleau had a double and a two-run homer, and Hayden Campbell added two hits. Olivia Howe of the Trojans allowed three runs on nine hits, while walking three and striking out nine.

Morgan Boyle of Portland had two hits, including a triple. Jessica Brown walked two and struck out nine.

GREELY 7, YARMOUTH 1: Kayley Cimino had three hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in three runs to lead the Rangers (3-0) past the Clippers (2-2) at Cumberland.

Sarah Felkel added two hits and one RBI, and Kelsey Currier struck out nine and walked three in a four-hitter for Greely.

Sydney St. Pierre finished with a pair of hits for Yarmouth.

SCARBOROUGH 8, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: The Red Storm (5-0) totaled seven runs in the first two inning and defeated the Red Riots (1-4) at South Portland.

Laura Powell drove in the first runs on a bases-loaded triple. Maggie Murphy, Chloe Gorey, Kaleigh Scoville and Abbie Murrell each had two hits for Scarborough.

DEERING 8, CHEVERUS 6: Cassidy Coyne had a bases-clearing triple to spark a five-run fourth inning as the visiting Rams (2-3) got past the Stags (0-5) at Portland.

Trailing 7-2, Cheverus answered with a four-run fifth, highlighted by a two-out, two-run double by Brooke Dawson, who then scored on a single by Izzy Probert.

LACROSSE

THORNTON ACADEMY 8, GORHAM 2: The Golden Trojans (2-1) took a 3-0 halftime lead and defeated the Rams (1-2) at Saco.

Amanda Cyr and Faith Sinclair scored two goals each for Thornton. Marina Pappalardo had both goals for Gotham.

LAKE REGION 16, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 9: Lauren Jakobs scored six goals to lead the Lakers (3-0) over the Panthers (1-2) at Yarmouth.

Rachel Shanks added four goals and Lindsey Keenan scored three for Lake Region.
