South Portland Police arrested two people from Lewiston on Tuesday night after they allegedly beat up and robbed a drug dealer at the Days Inn on Maine Mall Road.

Officers responded to the hotel at 10:48 p.m. to find 29-year-old Abdullah Dud of Saco bleeding profusely from a cut to his head. Dud told officers he was assaulted by two men and a woman in his room.

Police began searching the area for a vehicle they believed was involved, and about an hour later, uniformed officers stopped a car on the Interstate 295 on-ramp near Broadway, occupied by two people police suspected were connected to the robbery.

In the car, police found about $4,400 in cash. One occupant, Kokou Noulilo, 24, of Lewiston, had blood on him and an injury to his finger that was consistent with a description of the confrontation at the hotel, said South Portland police detective Sgt. Steve Webster.

Noulilo and the other occupant, Breanna Lee, 25, of Lewiston, were charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and violating conditions of release.

Police obtained a search warrant for the hotel room, where they found eight grams of crack cocaine hidden under a mattress.

When Dud was released from the hospital he was charged with aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs and violating conditions of release.
