The founder of Idexx Laboratories was awarded an honorary degree Saturday and 67 students picked up their diplomas from the Maine College of Art in Portland.
Idexx founder David Shaw, alumnus C. David Thomas and Ruby Lerner were all awarded honorary degrees during the ceremony at the State Theatre.
Lerner, founder of Creative Capital, an organization that supports innovative artists, delivered the commencement speech.
Twenty-three students earned master’s degrees.
