A Maine State Police trooper and a woman from Appleton were injured Tuesday afternoon when their vehicles collided on Sennebec Road in Appleton.

Cpl. Jeremy Wesbrock was responding to a crash in Searsmont and was trying to pass a car that turned left into the driver’s driveway, said Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the state police. Wesbrock’s cruiser sideswiped the car driven by Lisa Ford, 52, of Appleton. The impact forced both cars off the road.

Wesbrock and Ford were taken to PenBay Medical Center in Rockport with minor injuries. Another trooper responded to the crash in Searsmont.

The cruiser crash was reported at 3:30 p.m. Wesbrock had his emergency lights and siren on when the vehicles collided.
