NEW VINEYARD — A couple and their grandson were charged with furnishing a place for minors to drink after police broke up an underage party Saturday night.
David Jones, 71, his wife, Theresa, 59, and their grandson Dalton Ellis, 19, all of 230 Barker Road, New Vineyard, were each charged with the misdemeanor and released on bail from the Franklin County Jail on Sunday. They are scheduled to appear in court on June 28.
Franklin County sheriff’s deputies responded to a complaint of an underage drinking party at 230 Barker Road around 10 p.m. on Saturday.
When Cpl. Kevin Hartley, Deputy Sandy Burke and Deputy Derrick Doucette arrived at the home, they found “a good-size gathering” on the property with beer and alcohol bottles strewn around, according to Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols.
Nichols said that once police arrived, people started “bailing left and right.” After conducting an investigation of the scene, police determined that several underage people had been drinking alcohol.
