SACO — Kaylee Burns hit a two-run homer during a four-run second inning Wednesday and Thornton Academy held on for a 6-4 victory against Sanford in an SMAA softball game.

The Trojans (11-4) scored five runs in the first two innings to defeat the Spartans (12-3).

Hayden Campbell and Maizie Lee each had two hits, an RBI and a run for the Trojans, and Hannah Collins singled, drove in one run and scored once.

Nicole Main hit an RBI triple and scored a run for Sanford.

FALMOUTH 1, KENNEBUNK 0: Jessica Treadwell struck out eight and Allison Murphy drove in the go-ahead run in the fourth inning as the Yachtsmen (6-9) defeated the Rams (4-10) at Falmouth.

Jessica Collins of Kennebunk drew a walk in the fourth inning, advanced on a fielder’s choice, then scored on Murphy’s double.

Brittney Gregoire had both hits for the Rams.

Kylie DeFeo of Kennebunk struck out two, walked two and allowed two hits.

Treadwell also walked two and allowed two hits.

BIDDEFORD 12, WESTBROOK 2: Brook Davis hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning and the Tigers (12-3) added five runs in the fifth to beat the Blue Blazes (3-12) at Westbrook.

Erin Martin had three hits, including a two-run triple in the five-run fifth inning. Kristin Lebreux and Jocelyn Moody added RBI singles. Lebreux allowed two runs on five hits and a walk, striking out four.

Kayla Horner of Westbrook hit a two-run, two-out single in the first.

OCEANSIDE 4, MEDOMAK VALLEY 3: Brianna Dugan drove in a pair of runs with a two-out line single up the middle in the seventh inning to lift the Mariners (14-0) to a walk-off win over the Panthers (9-5) at Rockland.

Chloe Jones struck out 14 and walked two in a six-hitter for Oceanside, which also got an RBI double from Casey Pine.

Jones and Abby Veilleux scored on Dugan’s single after reaching on a hit batter and a walk. They advanced on a double steal prior to Dugan’s single.

Aubrey Schaeffer had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run for the Panthers.

NOBLE 19, MCAULEY 1: Shaughnessy Gower had nine strikeouts and one walk in a three-hitter, and also collected three hits as the Knights (9-6) cruised past the Lions (3-12) at Portland.

The Knights scored six runs in the first inning, including Kassidy Lessard’s three-run triple. Kayla Lessard hit a two-run homer during an eight-run seventh.

Lillie Donovan homered for the Lions in the fifth.

YARMOUTH 5, WELLS 2: Hannah Merrill had an RBI single in the fifth inning and the Clippers (11-3) added four runs in the sixth to beat the Warriors (9-6) at Wells.

Cate Ralph had two hits and Sophia McGrath doubled for Yarmouth. Mari Cooper allowed two runs on eight hits and a walk, striking out five.

Anya Chase went 3 for 4 for Wells.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Skye Conley hit a walk-off single in the eighth inning to lift the Patriots (10-4) over the Raiders (9-5) at Gray.

Mackenzie Buzzell homered and Nicole Bennett singled in Julia Quinn to give Fryeburg a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth. Gray-New Gloucester responded in the bottom of the inning on an RBI double by Conley, who then scored on Emily Brewer’s single.

Conley had two hits and two RBI, and Alison Martell allowed two runs on six hits and three walks, striking out nine. Bennett struck out eight, giving up eight hits and a walk.

CONY 17, CAMDEN HILLS 5: Autumn Sudsbury had a home run, two doubles and a single to lead the Rams (11-4) over Camden Hills (0-15) in six innings at Augusta.

Skyler Watson pitched a four-hitter, and added two doubles and a single. Allee Cloutier chipped in with two singles and a double for Cony, which had 20 hits.

SCARBOROUGH 12, MASSABESIC 0: Abbie Murrell threw a two-hitter and struck out 11 to lead the Red Storm (13-0) over the Mustangs (9-5) at Waterboro.

Murrell tripled and drove in two runs, and Kaleigh Scoville drove in five runs and hit a double for the Red Storm. Lindsey Kelley added two hits and scored twice.

Grace Tutt and Morgan Houk had the hits for Massabesic.

MARSHWOOD 4, GORHAM 3: Kaylah Abdul hit a go-ahead solo home run in the eighth inning to help the Hawks (7-8) beat the Rams (6-9) at Gorham.

Marshwood made it 4-2 in the eighth on a groundout by Madison Eastman that scored Emerson Stevens.

Abdul broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth, leading off with a single and scoring on a Stevens single.

The Rams responded with a run in the bottom of the inning on a single by Noelle Dibiase that scored Grace McGouldrick.

Lindsey Wilcox had two hits and scored in the bottom of the eighth for Gorham on a fielding error.

Emily Robida of Marshwood allowed six hits and two walks, striking out nine.

YORK 15, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 7: Stephanie Rundlett had a triple and two home runs to help the Wildcats (14-1) rally past the Seagulls (0-15) at Old Orchard Beach.

The Seagulls, who had one hit in the game, led 6-4 entering the fifth inning, helped by nine walks.

Rundlett pitched the sixth and seventh, striking out five. She hit a two-run homer in the fifth, a two-run triple in the sixth and a solo homer in the seventh.

DEERING 8, BONNY EAGLE 6: Abby Elowitch went 3 for 3 with three runs and an RBI to pace an 11-hit offense for the Rams (3-12) against the Scots (6-9) at Standish.

Sydney Giroux added a pair of singles and drove in two runs for the Rams, who led 8-3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning.

Deering also got two singles each from Kaylee Helmick and Siobhan Densmore, and Cassidy Coyne finished with two RBI.

Ashlyn Wintle hit a triple and a single, scored a run and drove in one for the Scots.

LACROSSE

MCAULEY 11, DEERING 10: Zoe Mazur scored three minutes into overtime to lift the visiting Lions (2-8) over the Rams (4-6) at Portland.

Catherine Reid scored four goals, Elizabeth Poulin added three and Mazur had two for McAuley.

Megan Violette had five goals and Mia Thurston scored twice for Deering.

GORHAM 11, NOBLE 0: Four players scored multiple goals as the Rams (6-4) defeated the Knights (2-8) at Gorham.

Kaylin Apt, Jennifer Darasz, Hailey Morrill and Emma Smith each scored twice, and Allison Sinnett recorded eight saves.
