YARMOUTH — Trevor Lachance scored with a minute left in overtime Friday to give North Yarmouth Academy a 7-6 victory against Greely in a schoolboy lacrosse game.

Lachance had three goals and two assists, Sam Johnson added a pair of goals and an assist, and Jeremy Thelven and Ryan Baker also scored for NYA (3-8).

Ben Kennedy had two goals for Greely (5-6). Alex Wetmore and Tim Coyle each had a goal and an assist.

CHEVERUS 9, PORTLAND 5: Marco Giancotti and Finn Cawley had three goals each as the Stags (7-4) downed the visiting Bulldogs (4-7) at Portland.

Mackenzie Hoglund had a pair of goals for Cheverus, Alex Nason added a goal and Max Coffin finished with two assists.

Drake McGhie and Robert Nolan each had a pair of goals, and Sam Shaw also scored for Portland.

Sean Walsh stopped 11 shots for the Stags.

SOUTH PORTLAND 19, MASSABESIC 1: Jake Angell scored five goals for the Red Riots (6-5), who received goals from 10 players and handled the Mustangs (4-7) at Waterboro.

David Fiorini and Cooper Melhorn each had three goals and three assists for South Portland. Finn Zechman added a pair of goals.

Kevin Nguyen scored for Massabesic.

Quinn Watson had 10 saves for the Red Riots. Blake Foglio stopped 13 shots for the Mustangs.

MARSHWOOD 12, NOBLE 11: Henry Honkonen had five goals to lead the Hawks (1-10) over the Knights (1-10) at South Berwick.

Phil Butler added three goals and Nevan Collins scored twice for Marshwood. Logan Pomerleau scored five goals to lead Noble, Wyatt St. Pierre added three and Jordan Armenta saved 22 shots.

WESTBROOK 11, THORNTON ACADEMY 8: Curtis Knapton scored four goals to lead the Blue Blazes (8-3) over the Golden Trojans (8-3) at Saco.

Grayson Post of Westbrook recorded two goals and three assists. John Tibbetts added two goals and one assist. Alex LeBlanc had 15 saves.

Noah Edborg scored three goals for Thornton.

CAPE ELIZABETH 14, YARMOUTH 6: R.J. Sarka and Owen Thoreck each finished with four goals and one assist as the Capers (11-0) downed the Clippers (7-4) at Cape Elizabeth.

Riley Pillsbury added three goals and two assists for the Capers, Jay Bottomley had one goal and two assists.

Walter Conrad scored twice for Yarmouth.

BASEBALL

TRAIP ACADEMY 3, WELLS 2: Alex Foye threw out the potential tying run at the plate to end the game as the Raiders (11-4) edged the Warriors (7-7) at Kittery.

Coleman Pelkey had a pair of hits, including a solo homer in the bottom of the second to start the scoring for Traip, and Henry Driscoll had a pair of singles and scored twice.

Driscoll scored to break a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning from third on a suicide squeeze from Foye.

Charlie Bell had two singles, scored a run and reached four times for Wells. Scott Ramsey added a pair of hits and an RBI.

Trevor Salema picked up the win with four innings of relief, allowing one unearned run and striking out two.

YARMOUTH 8, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Conor O’Donnell hit a two-run triple in the fourth inning and the Clippers (9-5-1) broke the game open with a three-run fifth to beat the Patriots (3-12) at Yarmouth.

O’Donnell also doubled, and Joe DeFusco added two hits and an RBI. Tyler Waaler also tripled for the Clippers.

Andrew Kinsman allowed no earned runs on five hits and two walks, striking out two.

KENNEBUNK 4, YORK 3: The Rams (6-9) overcame a 3-0 first-inning deficit to rally past the Wildcats (11-5) at Kennebunk.

York scored three in the first inning off an infield error, and RBI singles by Forrest Kelley and Andrew Rodrigues.

Justin Wiggins of Kennebunk scored twice and bunted the winning run into scoring position in the sixth. It later scored on an error.

Eric Aiken picked up the win, pitching six innings, allowing six hits and striking out six.

OCEANSIDE 6, BELFAST 1: Nick Mazurek struck out 13 and the Mariners (12-3) scored five runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Lions (8-7) at Belfast.

The Mariners took a 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI groundout by Mazurek. The Lions tied it in the fourth when Lucien Smith doubled and later scored on an error.

With the bases loaded in the eighth, three Mariners scored after being hit by pitches, another on a walk and another on a squeeze.

ERSKINE ACADEMY 3, MORSE 0: Nate Howard and Zack Glidden combined on a two-hit shutout as the Eagles (12-3) beat Morse (4-11) at Bath.

Howard went five innings and gave up the two hits, striking out 10. Caleb Barden hit a two-run double for the Eagles.

LAKE REGION 2, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Ryan Hodgdon singled in Mark Mayo in the eighth inning as the Lakers (2-13) defeated the Hawks (12-3) at South Hiram.

Tristen Chaine’s sacrifice fly in the fifth scored Chase Weese to put the Lakers up 1-0. Jared Jordan of Sacopee led off the seventh with a double and scored on a fielder’s choice to force extra innings.

Roderick Maynard of Sacopee allowed four hits and struck out 12 over seven innings. Nate Smith of Lake Region allowed five hits and struck out five over seven innings.
