KITTERY — Alex Foye lined a one-out single to drive in Shane MacNeill in the eighth inning Wednesday as Traip Academy downed Freeport 2-1 in a Western Maine Conference baseball game.

Foye also gave Traip (12-4) a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single and finished with three hits.

Freeport (10-6) answered in the fourth on a Jack Davenport single and two-out error.

Trevor Salema picked up the win, allowing one hit over the last four innings.

Davenport gave up one earned run, striking out nine.

VALLEY 3, GREENVILLE 1: Cody Laweryson allowed one run on two hits, walking none and striking out 12 to lift the Cavaliers (12-2) over Greenville (11-5) at Bingham.

Evan Bjork took the loss despite giving up two hits and no walks, striking out six.

FALMOUTH 5, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Cam Guarino pitched a two-hitter, striking out six and walking one, as the Yachtsmen (16-0) shut out the Patriots (3-13) at Falmouth.

Tyler Gee had a pair of doubles and drove in a run to lead a balanced nine-hit offense for Falmouth. Reece Armitage and Hogan Tracy each had a double and single.

Zachary Mann had a double for Gray-New Gloucester.

WELLS 7, KENNEBUNK 2: Charlie Bell hit a two-run double as part of a three-run fifth inning that helped the Warriors (8-8) defeat the Rams (6-10) at Kennebunk.

Wells led 3-0 through two innings but Kennebunk responded with a two-run third. Nate Lapointe scored on a groundout by Justin Wiggins and John Jarowicz on a double steal.

Cameren Cousins of Wells allowed five hits and three walks, striking out two.

SACOPEE VALLEY 20, WAYNFLETE 4: The Hawks (13-3) scored eight runs in the third inning, sending 14 batters to the plate, and defeated the Flyers (3-11) in five innings at South Hiram.

Dana Shea went 3 for 4 with three RBI and three runs, and Brandon Burnell added three hits and three RBI for Sacopee Valley.

Tommy Silk had both hits for Waynflete, including a double.

Brady Anderson of the Hawks allowed two earned runs on two hits, striking out three.

LACROSSE

WAYNFLETE 13, FREEPORT 10: Miles Lipton had three goals and an assist, and Willy Burdick added three goals to lead the Flyers (8-4) to a victory over the Falcons (3-9) at Portland.

Hank Duvall added two goals and two assists, and Will Nelligan had two goals and an assist for Waynflete, which led 7-6 at halftime. Will Armstrong made 10 saves.

Brady LaFrance had three goals and an assist, and Connor Dostie scored three times for Freeport. Zac Wogan stopped 12 shots.
